Celebrating National Urgent Care Awareness Month

May 12, 2017 Dr. LouAnne Giangreco

Each May, the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) celebrates National Urgent Care Awareness Month to highlight the invaluable services that urgent care centers provide consumers. Health conditions and questions come in many forms – and at any time. For these moments, it can be empowering to know how to choose the most appropriate healthcare service location.

Urgent care facilities are seeing continued growth. UCAOA’s 2016 Benchmarking Survey reported that 98 percent of who visited an urgent care center were in the appropriate setting, with two percent transferred to an emergency room. Moreover, of the nation’s urgent care providers, 89 percent saw an increase in the number of patients – with the number continuing to rise.

Five Star Urgent Care recognizes the rising need for urgent care centers.
